Cabinet Refinishing Process

For every cabinet refinishing project, we typically take5 to 7 days to complete. Our goal is to deliver the best possible quality while minimizing disruption to your daily routine. Here’s what you can expect from start to finish:

  • Day 1- Preparation

Man spray painting kitchen cabinets; indoor setting with masking.

    • We start by labeling every door and drawer so each piece returns to its exact place.

    • Next, we carefully remove the doors and drawer fronts.

    • We recommend you clear out as much as possible from inside the cabinets to reduce the risk of damage and give us space to tape and protect the interior.

    • All surrounding areas (walls, floors, counters, appliances, etc.) are covered with tape, paper, and plastic.

    • If possible, the stove will be moved so we can refinish side panels. (Please note: your stove will be unavailable for 2–3 days, so plan accordingly.)

    • A plastic barrier is installed to keep dust and overspray contained in the work area.

  • Day 2- Frame Refinishing

Person in protective gear sprays paint on cabinetry in a room.

    • With everything protected, we clean and degrease the cabinet frames.

    • All surfaces are sanded to ensure proper adhesion.

    • After sanding, we clean away all dust.

    • We apply primer coats, sanding lightly between them for a smooth finish.

    • Then, we spray 2–3 coats of topcoat for a durable, professional look.

    • An exhaust fan is used to remove fumes and odors.

    • Once the frames are complete, we remove all masking so your kitchen is fully functional again the same day.

  • Day 3- Door & Drawer Preparation

Person wearing gloves sanding a light-colored wooden board on a work surface.

    • At our shop, we clean, degrease, and sand all doors and drawers.

    • Any repairs are made at this stage.

    • This step is crucial for ensuring a strong bond between the wood and the new finish.

  • Day 4- Door & Drawer Painting

A person spray painting a white cabinet door with a paint sprayer in a workshop.

    • Doors and drawers are primed and sprayed with topcoat.

    • Multiple coats are applied for a flawless finish.

  • Day 5- Installation & Final Touches

Two kitchen views: before and after, featuring wood and white cabinets, black countertops, and appliances.

    • Doors and drawers are carefully inspected. Any imperfections are touched up before delivery.

    • Once approved, everything is wrapped, transported, and reinstalled in your home following the labels from Day 1.

    • If you’ve chosen new hardware (handles/knobs), we install them at this time.

Countertop Resurfacing

We offer two different options for resurfacing countertops. Each has its own characteristics, pros, and cons.

  • Option 1- Epoxy Overlay

Black countertop with a circular sink, reflective surface, near a white wall.

This method creates a unique, stone-like design with endless possibilities in color and pattern. Every project results in a one-of-a-kind finish.

    Process

    • Typically completed in 1 day (not including cure time).

    • Can be applied on Stone, Formica, or Corian countertops.

    • A primer is applied for bonding, and joints/edges are caulked to prevent leaks.

    • Everything is masked with paper and plastic for protection.

    • The epoxy base color is poured and spread, then customized with veining and patterns in different colors.

    • A torch is used to remove air bubbles and ensure a smooth, glossy surface.

    Pros

    • Completely custom and original design every time.

    • High-gloss finish with stunning depth.

    • Heat-resistant and extremely durable.

    • Won’t chip or peel.

    Cons

    • Requires 3–4 days before light use and 2–3 weeks before placing heavy appliances.

    • Faucets and drains may need to be removed before installation.

    • More expensive than other resurfacing options.

  • Option 2- Multi-Spec Counter Design

Dark gray speckled countertop with a double sink, black faucet, and cabinets.

This is a spray-applied coating with three layers that creates the look and feel of stone or granite.

    Process

    • Typically completed in 1 day.

    • Can be applied on Corian, Formica, tile, fiberglass, and even bathtubs.

    • A base coat is applied in the color/design you select (many options available).

    • A water-based multi-spec coat is sprayed, adding texture and a granite-like look.

    • Finally, a clear topcoat is applied in your choice of flat, satin, or gloss finish.

    Pros

    • Fast turnaround – ready to use after 24 hours.

    • No need to remove sinks, faucets, or drains.

    • More budget-friendly than epoxy overlay.

    Cons

    • Designs are limited to available color/pattern options.

    • As a spray product, there may be some chemical smell during application.

Bathtub & Tile Refinishing

Bathtub and tile refinishing is typically completed in half a day to a full day, depending on the size of the project. Our goal is to restore your bathtub or tiles with a durable, professional finish while keeping the process as smooth as possible.

  • Preparation

    • Before we begin, it’s important that faucets and showerheads are not leaking. Even a small drip can damage the fresh coating.

    • We first identify the bathtub material (metal or fiberglass).

o Metal tubs are usually acid-etched.

o Fiberglass tubs are sanded to create a proper bond for the new coating.

    • If the tub has been painted previously, we check for peeling or chipping. If needed, the old coating will be completely stripped before refinishing.

  • Protection & Setup

    • All areas not being refinished (walls, floors, counters, fixtures, etc.) are carefully covered with paper, plastic, and tape.

    • An exhaust fan is installed to remove fumes and odors from the bathroom.

  • Refinishing Process

    1. Primer Application

o An epoxy primer is applied to seal the surface and prepare it for topcoat.

o At this stage, you may choose to add an anti-slip texture to the tub floor for extra safety. We recommend this option since a newly refinished tub can be slippery when wet.

    2. Topcoat Application

o Several coats of topcoat are sprayed for full coverage and a smooth, glossy finish.

    3. Cleanup

o Once the final coat is applied, we carefully remove all masking materials and clean the work area.

  • Aftercare

    • Your bathtub or tile will be ready to use after 24 hours.
